Monarch Writing

The Monarch Butterfly
Monarchs are insects that belong to the butterfly family. Their life cycle is spent on the swan plant. Monarch butterfly are seasonal and they are threatened species.

In the Monarch Butterfly life cycle first the Monarch lays 400 eggs. Then a little caterpillar pops out and crunches on swan plants leaves.  It grows and grows by eating leaves. When its ready to go into a chrysalis they turn into a J shape and split their skin apart.

Then it turns green and slowly turns dark black and the wings can be seen. In the chrysalis they stay in it for two weeks then they hatch and a pretty butterfly comes out. A butterfly waits for its wings to dry. They flap their wings to dry them.
